Our Strategic Plan


  • To have consistent, established quality music programs for JK-8
  • To increase advocacy for school and community music making, and the recognition of engagement and successes in North Bay area
  • To join with other communities across Ontario to raise profile of music education



  • Lobby
    • Ministry of Education
    • Boards of Education
  • Communications
    • Get a ‘volunteer’ press manager
      • approach Canadore and the TV arts program
      • use retired person who is passionate about this and has connections
    • Create platforms for online discussion and provincial think-tank, etc.(e.g. online chat groups)
    • Increased communication with other communities across Ontario to raise profile of music education
    • Connect with individuals and organizations who can affect change (OMEA and ETFO)
    • Use consistent, persistent and positive profile of music education
    • Regular communication with administration of schools, boards, and trustees. (i.e. poster campaign)
      • Have a poster display done by the students about’ what music means to me’ and display in prominent place with judging done by admin of schools, boards and trustees
  • Advocate
    • Continue to advocate for
      • Music in the schools in a positive yet effective way. Keep the
      • Qualified music teachers
      • Dedicated curriculum time
