Play the Music Monday Song over the announcements every morning, one week prior to event and explain its significance.

Invite school trustees, administrators, parents and students to speak about the importance of music education. Invite the media as guests.

Invite the school and sing/play the Music Monday song on Music Monday in the football field (or caf depending on weather) along with a few other tunes.

B. Joint School Event (in addition to Steps 1-4 of A.)

Organize a joint event with other schools. If they are close by, rotate joint rehearsals at each school

OR if they are far away (i.e. another province), plan to execute a similar activity then have students build a facebook group and/or youtube page where they share their music, rehearsals, comments and plans with each other. Share each others recordings during class/rehearsal time as a way to mutually inspire.

C. Community Wide Event (In addition to Steps 1-4 of A.)

Choose a community partner such as:a senior’s music group,

  • local or professional symphony or choir,
  • local music retailer,
  • a senior’s music group,
  • media outlet,
  • city hall,
  • shopping mall, or
  • sports team.
